Meso Grill was started as a way for two brothers, Umut and Mehmet Kokangul, to share Mediterranean dishes inspired by authentic family recipes.

After moving to the United States from Turkey, the Kokangul brothers began to grill at home for fun, often inviting their family and friends over to enjoy a delicious homecooked meal. Because of a gap in the Albuquerque restaurant market for authentic Mediterranean food, their family and friends urged them to open a restaurant where they could cook traditional Mediterranean dishes.

After being in the restaurant industry for 10 years, Umut opened Meso Grill at Sawmill Market. Him and his team have made it their mission to serve the Albuquerque area with authentic Mediterranean cuisine inspired by their upbringing in Turkey. All their food is made with a touch of homemade taste that ensures a unique culinary experience to their guests.
